The journey
2 nights Kandy → 2 nights Nuwara Eliya → 2 nights Ella
The Kandy–Ella train ride shows up in nearly every Sri Lanka photo feed for a reason — tea terraces running right up to the tracks, cloud forest, the kind of views a coach tour can't match. This itinerary builds the whole trip around it: Kandy's Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic first, then the railway itself in a private observation compartment rather than a shared carriage, before settling into Ella for Nine Arches Bridge, the short Little Adam's Peak hike, and tea-estate time in Nuwara Eliya without the usual rush to the next stop.
